FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT TRAINING COURSE
This Course has been Awarded 12 Hours of Continual Professional Development by the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE).
Anyone attending this course would benefit from having some experience of the housing sector and risk assessment but this is not essential
Those who have a responsibility for undertaking and or reviewing fire risk assessments

Fire Safety Risk Assessment Core Skills. Our courses encompass the principles of fire safety risk assessment

Delegates will learn how the fire risk assessment process ‘pieces’ together with this course covering all of the necessary basic elements of a fire risk assessment in HMO's, Purpose-Built Blocks of Flats (Less than 10 storeys) & Specialised Housing

This course contains update information on building cladding types.
The Course includes:
The course uses a delegate workbook (which delegates keep for future reference), along with presentations and interactive exercises that are debriefed throughout the sessions.
Throughout the course, delegates will complete workbook exercises aligned with each presentation. On the final day, they will carry out a ‘mock premises’ fire risk assessment exercise (desktop-based), followed by a practical ‘walk round fire safety risk assessment’ of the training venue.
This training is ideal for those looking to gain practical experience in conducting a fire safety risk assessment in Manchester, especially in real-world environments.
While the course is non-assessable, delegates must complete both the course and the workbook to receive a certificate of attendance.
Training is delivered by David; David is formally a Fire and Rescue Service Officer with 27 years’ experience, David was a warranted ‘Fire Safety Inspecting Officer’, Fire and Rescue Service Qualified Fire Investigation Officer.
Since retiring David Prince has delivered Fire Risk Assessment training nationally and has a wide range of experience in delivering such training to all sectors especially to Health and Safety practitioners. David Prince continues to undertake fire risk assessments of a wide range of premises types throughout the UK. David Prince is one of only 73 Nationally Accredited Fire Risk Assessors on the FRACS register and is also listed on the IFSM Register of Fire Risk Assessors (No 151). David Prince also has formal teaching qualifications (Dip Ed) as well as a wide range of ‘Fire and Rescue Service’ fire safety qualifications. As a fire safety practitioner David is aware of current Fire Safety practices.

We are an ‘Institute of Fire Safety Managers’ (IFSM) ‘Accredited Centre’.
An ‘Certificate of Attendance’ Accredited by ‘The Institute of Fire Safety Managers’ (IFSM) is Awarded to each delegate that completes the course.
The course is non-assessable; however, delegates must complete the course and the course workbook to receive their certificate of attendance; the workbook is completed during the course.
Continual Professional Development (CPD): 13 Hours of ‘Formal’ CPD is awarded.
Course Duration
2 Days 08.30 Hours to 17:00 Hours, with morning and afternoon breaks and 45 minutes for lunch. This two-day course includes a light lunch, teas and coffees, soft drinks and light snacks each day.

Publicly Accessible Courses We endeavour to keep the cost of courses as low as possible, however, unfortunately courses held outside of Manchester are more expensive. There is a maximum of 12 places, and they will be secured on a ‘first come first serve basis’ by return of the attached booking form.
